Ankara take 3.

Hellur !Hope you’re doing great. DSC_8179

Over the years ( two years actually ) I  have developed a love for well tailored clothes . Clothes tailored for you . Clothes with African print. Ankara outfits . They are everything !DSC_8190

Long time ago, I would always say that Ankara fondly referred to as Kitenge were for older women , y’know? I’d always stray away from having my name being mentioned in the same breath as the word Kitenge . I was just not that old .. foolish meDSC_8177

Aaanyway, my turning point came when I was still to learning town. I got lost a couple of times ( read as very many ) though I soon got the hang of it . I walked one day and found myself in Nairobi textiles. Don’t ask me how I got there , I still wonder. DSC_8205

And so my journey began . All those shops with such pretty fabrics , I was basically in love. I decided that Ankara wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I searched for the most ‘ non-kitenge’ because of my notion about it and age and bought my first fabric.DSC_8186

Now, looking for my tailor is a story and a half , maybe for next time? The dress I have on is a product of my first Ankara outfit , and I love it to bits. I paired the dress with black sandal heels that gave the dress a more elegant look. DSC_8203
